2006 Committees

Executive Committee

Members include the four officers plus two appointments by the President. This committee acts on behalf of the board of directors between board meetings. This committee meets on the odd-numbered months of the year, opposite of the board meetings on the even-numbered months.

Budget and Admissions Committee

This committee includes board members and representatives from the community and area businesses. February through May, members are involved in the rigorous review process: analyzing budget requests, agency site visits, and committee interviews with each applicant agency. Budget recommendations are sent to the board to finalize agency allocations and United Fund administrative and campaign expenses to set the fall goal.

This committee meets during the year to review campaign materials, advertising, media press releases, set campaign plans and events, and recruit volunteers in preparation for the fall drive.

Nominating Committee

Three to five members meet in October and November to set nominations for board and officer elections at the annual meeting in December.


Community Grant Fund
Emergency Grant Fund

Set-aside funds each campaign to be used for area 501(c)(3) organizations; intended to further their mission and used for general operations, specific programs. These grant funds are intended to also add flexibility for emergency type issues that arise in the community.


Local Scout Funding Committee
Girl Scout Representatives - Melanie Langjahr, Jennifer Scott
Boy Scout Representatives - Howard Wilde, Paul Hiszem
United Fund Reps - Jon Ditz, John Elmlinger, Marge Cassidy, John Hipp, Linda Bersche

This committee meets four times per year to review requests from the scout leaders for local funding for individual scout, leader and troop needs.
