United Fund is having an impact on our community not only by funding a safety net of services and programs for people needing short-term, temporary assistance, but also by identifying the most critical local issues and bringing together the people and resources to address them.

United Fund works hard to invest our donor's contributions in programs and services that are making a measurable difference in our community and improving lives right here at home:

Funded Community Programs

Each year, United Fund helps thousands of people by funding programs run by local non-profit agencies that provide important medical, social, youth and community outreach services.

To qualify for United Fund support, an organization must be a non-profit community agency governed by a board of local unpaid volunteers and operating in the most efficient and effective means possible. Each year the agencies must reapply for funding. Operating budgets and funding requests are submitted to the Budget and Admissions Committee for evaluation. Recommendations are then presented to the United Fund Board of Directors for review, approval and setting the annual goal.

All United Fund investments must answer three important questions:
» Does this program address a critical community need?
» Is this an efficient and effective use of our donors' contributions?
» Does the program achieve the community outcomes we seek?
