2012 CAMPAIGN

Dear Friends & Neighbors:

Since 1877 our community has united its citizens in a great local philanthropic effort to help our neighbors who find themselves in need of assistance. Thank you for helping us reach 35% so far this fall!

With volunteer and donor support from community residents and businesses, we reach out a hand to fund local programs and help lead our community through good times and bad. In addition to being a community funder, the United Fund board provides programs such as the Prom Dress project, Sweater Drive, Community Canning Day, Days of Caring and others.

The programs we fund address long lasting changes; preventative measures that address problems and emergencies. Each funded program focuses on Health, Education, Community & Family Services. Programs are listed on the enclosed brochure. Here are a few examples:

  • Senior Enrichment Services delivered 17,103 meals each weekday to 132 area seniors
  • Wakeman Caring Community Volunteers assisted 363 families with food and emergency outreach
  • Reach Our Youth mentors help their little sister or brother with positive experiences
  • The Red Cross is always standing by when disaster strikes

Thanks to past support from our community residents, families are receiving assistance with childhood education and mentoring, medical care, prescriptions and doctor bills, meals for seniors, disaster response and service to our armed forces.

We ask for your donation again this year despite tough times in our nation and community. We will continue our 134 year tradition of caring and standing together to help our community thrive.

We have the power to work together, help our neighbors, and achieve positive goals. We thank you for your past gifts and invite you to continue to help our community fund. Thank you.
